Nativity:

I kneeled before my child, the soon to be saviour of the world. His face glowed like a halo. A little lamb went up and nuzzled my arm. His coat was as white as snow. The wind ruffled the lamb’s fur, showing the skin underneath. His skin was flamingo pink. I glanced at Jesus, and I noticed Joseph looking too. His eyes were full of happiness. I realised that this baby Jesus, would bring joy to both of our lives.

Visitation:

I put one foot inside Elizabeth’s house. I could feel the sand swadling my foot. My heart tore through my chest, making it hard to breath. Elizabeth and Zachariah greeted me with loving smiles. I immediately felt air surge through my lungs. The smell of their house welcomed me, giving me hugs and kisses. Elizabeth then said, “Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb!” My face radiated with joy.

Annunciation:

I kneeled to honor and pray. Suddenly, an angel appeared in front of me. POOF! His wings were as bright as sunshine. I was afraid, and wanted to bolt like a rabbit. The angel spoke “Fear not Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus. He shall be great, and shall be called the son of the Highest.”
I was honoured that I had found favour with God!

Shaking, I replied, “Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it done to me according to thy word.” With that, the angel departed.

Sumatran Tiger

Rainforests are being burned down for Palm Oil plantations, destroying endangered species habitats. Some other impacts of the oil plantations are, air pollution from the smoke, soil erosion, water pollution which are resulting in climate change.

One animal palm oil plantations affects is the Sumatran Tiger. The Sumatran Tiger lives in the island of Sumatra, and it’s habitat is in the rainforest. There are less than 400 Sumatran Tigers left.

We can help the Sumatran Tiger and other animals such as the Sumatran Orangutan by reducing the amount of products  that we consume that contain palm oil. We can also send a complaint to brands that have palm oil in them, or donate money to wildlife organisations.

Malala Yousafzai

Inspiration is the process to be encouraged to do something creative, or something that you haven’t done before. When we are inspired by someone this means that we are encouraged to do something that person has done. If you aspire to be like someone it means that you desire to be like that person.

Malala Yousafzai was born on the 12th July, 1997 Mingora Swat District of North west Pakistan. The name ‘Malala’ means sad and grief stricken. Malala’s father’s name is Ziauddin Yousafzai. He is a social activist. Her mother’s name is Tor Pekai Yousafzai and her siblings name’s are Alal and Khushal Yousafzai. Malala used to study in Edgbaston High School for she is a Sunni Islamic. In 2013 she won the Simone de Beauvoir Prize and the Sakharov prize for Freedom of thought, and in 2014 she won the Nobel peace prize. A south African activist nominated Malala for the international Children’s Peace Prize, and she won it. On November 2014, she was denounced by a group of Pakistan schools because of her book, ‘I am Malala’.

Screenshot 2015-06-17 at 9.51.59 AM.pngMalala is still ambitious to fight for girl’s right to education. On October 9th ,2012 the Taliban tried to stop her, and silence her for good. So a Taliban gunman shot her on the left side of her head. She survived, the shot did the opposite of what it was meant to do. For Malala was even more ambitious to speak up for women's/girl’s rights to education.

The world would have been worse if Malala hadn’t lived because then the woman and girls in Pakistan wouldn't have any hope of having an education. Then the Taliban, having done with Pakistan, would go to other countries enforcing the law that women and girls wouldn’t have any education. Therefore the Taliban would injure and kill people in their path, causing war between countries and the Taliban.

Malala inspires me to speak up for what I know is right, and that doing so, I must be brave to overcome obstacles that may block my path. She also inspires me to be the best that I can be to help those around me.

When you thought I wasn't looking-For My Mother

When you thought I wasn’t looking

  • When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you wake up early in the morning to make my lunch for school and I learned that the little things in life are actually the big things.
  • When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you clean up after me and I learned that doing things for others makes you feel good inside.
  • When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you wake up early for work and I learned that you do it for the family.
  • When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw the clothes that you bought me and I learned that faith helped you choose clothes that were modest, for me.
  • When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you bake cupcakes for the neighbours, and I learned that serving one another shows God’s love for us.
  • When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you clean up the house and I learned that keeping a clean house, keeps your brain clean and in order.
  • When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you plan dinner every night, and I learned that planning things, keeps your thoughts organized.
  • When you thought I wasn’t looking, I looked at you and wanted to say, “Thanks for all the things I saw… when you thought I wasn’t looking.”
