Inspiration is the process to be encouraged to do something creative, or something that you haven’t done before. When we are inspired by someone this means that we are encouraged to do something that person has done. If you aspire to be like someone it means that you desire to be like that person.

Malala Yousafzai was born on the 12th July, 1997 Mingora Swat District of North west Pakistan. The name ‘Malala’ means sad and grief stricken. Malala’s father’s name is Ziauddin Yousafzai. He is a social activist. Her mother’s name is Tor Pekai Yousafzai and her siblings name’s are Alal and Khushal Yousafzai. Malala used to study in Edgbaston High School for she is a Sunni Islamic. In 2013 she won the Simone de Beauvoir Prize and the Sakharov prize for Freedom of thought, and in 2014 she won the Nobel peace prize. A south African activist nominated Malala for the international Children’s Peace Prize, and she won it. On November 2014, she was denounced by a group of Pakistan schools because of her book, ‘I am Malala’.

So a Taliban gunman shot her on the left side of her head. She survived, the shot did the opposite of what it was meant to do. For Malala was even more ambitious to speak up for women's/girl’s rights to education.

The world would have been worse if Malala hadn’t lived because then the woman and girls in Pakistan wouldn't have any hope of having an education. Then the Taliban, having done with Pakistan, would go to other countries enforcing the law that women and girls wouldn’t have any education. Therefore the Taliban would injure and kill people in their path, causing war between countries and the Taliban.

Malala inspires me to speak up for what I know is right, and that doing so, I must be brave to overcome obstacles that may block my path. She also inspires me to be the best that I can be to help those around me.

When you thought I wasn't looking-For My Mother

When you thought I wasn’t looking

  • When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you wake up early in the morning to make my lunch for school and I learned that the little things in life are actually the big things.
  • When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you clean up after me and I learned that doing things for others makes you feel good inside.
  • When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you wake up early for work and I learned that you do it for the family.
  • When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw the clothes that you bought me and I learned that faith helped you choose clothes that were modest, for me.
  • When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you bake cupcakes for the neighbours, and I learned that serving one another shows God’s love for us.
  • When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you clean up the house and I learned that keeping a clean house, keeps your brain clean and in order.
  • When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you plan dinner every night, and I learned that planning things, keeps your thoughts organized.
  • When you thought I wasn’t looking, I looked at you and wanted to say, “Thanks for all the things I saw… when you thought I wasn’t looking.”

Saint Joan of Arc

I am St. Joan of Arc. I was born in the year 1412 in Domrémy-la-Pucelle. I heard a lot of voices and saw a lot of visions of saints at my home. Why did they appear to me? I didn’t know until...The voices told me that I was the only one who could save France and I would have to join the army, but I didn’t believe them. But the saints kept telling me I was the only one who could save France. So I went to the Dauphin, and he tested me, to see if I was worthy to join the army. I passed his test, for he had realised that I was a messenger of God. The Dauphin said that I could fight for his army, but to do so, I had to pretend I was a boy.

When I was at the battle field, I rode on the Dauphin’s white horse, and held the French flag. I didn’t fight. But one day, my army and I, were outnumbered, so they retreated and left me behind. I then was captured by the enemy. In their place where they kept me, there was a tower that overlooked the courtyard. I jumped of the tower, and miraculously. It took me a long time to recover, but when I did, the enemy caught me and brought me to a cell. There, I stayed until they brought me and condemned me to death at the age of 19!

Now here I lay in heaven watching people celebrate my feast day on May 30th.
