Book Review_Darling Mercy Dog World War 1

Book Review

Title: Darling The mercy dog World War 1
Type of book review: Describe a character

It all started with a dog, named Darling. She and her human family lived at the time, before the World War 1. Then one day, news came that there was war. Each family had to offer at least one man to go and fight. The dad volunteered himself, he was an old man, but he had to go. The day came , when he had to go, his family, wished him good luck, and then he went of. From that day onward, things began to get even harder, than letting a member of the family go to war. The food stock was getting lower, there was not a lot of water, and some food prices were getting dearer. A letter came, and it said that they would have to pay a lot more money, to keep Darling with them, and if they didn’t have enough money to pay, then they would send Darling off to war. The children cried, especially the sister. The rest of the story, then goes on about what they had to do to get the dogs trained and ready for war. It also said some amazing things that Darling did, what happened in the war, and what Darling did, to help in the war.

Darling, is a normal female dog. She lives with a human family, which has a girl, boy, mum and dad. Sometimes, Darling would run away from home, and go and visit her friend. But her life soon changes, to a word of fighting, war and hatred. She doesn’t know what she’s doing there, but she then, learns from it.

I like this story, because its main character is a dog, and it also shows what amazing things someone can do…even a dog. The characters were believable, and there wasn’t any gruesome descriptions, that I could tell of.
I recommend this book for, people who like animals, and are interested in the roles of animals who help in the war.
